Activated
Active talents that have an instant effect: the character executes a special attack or action (e.g. casting a Fireball at a group of enemies).


Passive

Passive abilities that add a permanent bonus, or upgrade to an existing ability (e.g. doing more damage with elemental spells).

Sustained
The character gains some bonuses (e.g. adding extra armor or regaining mana from dead enemies).


Upgrade
An Upgrade provides stat bonuses to a character and allows them to use a spell with more efficiency and power.





Starter talent:
 



Pommel Strike: (Activated)
Requirements: None
Description: Instead of leading with the fatal attack an enemy expects, the warrior strikes out with a weapon's blunt end to stun the opponent.

OR



Shield Bash: (Activated)
Requirements: None
Description: The warrior's shield arcs out, striking foes like a battering ram.   







Battlemaster:




Rally: (Activated)
Requirements: Level 4
Description: The warrior rallies fellow combatants, briefly boosting other party members' mana or stamina regeneration rates and lending them the benefits of Might, Control, Turn the Blade, or Elemental Aegis if the warrior currently has one of those sustained modes active.


    Upgrade Unite: (Upgrade) Requirements: Level 8 + 2 Points in Battlemaster Description: Other allies now gain the benefits of the upgrades to Might, Control, Turn the Blade, or Elemental Aegis if the warrior currently has one of those sustained modes active, and party members regenerate mana or stamina even more quickly.





Bolster: (Activated)
Requirements: Level 3
Description: Steeling for battle, the warrior takes a deep breath to regain some stamina.



Deep Reserves: (Passive)
Requirements: Level 6 + Bolster
Description: The warrior's extensive combat experience grants great fortitude in battle.



Second Wind: (Activated)
Requirements: Level 8 + Bolster
Description: Long years of training grant access to deep reserves of vigor, instantly restoring the warrior's stamina.

    Upgrade Deep Breath: (Upgrade) Requirements: Level 12 Description: Second Wind can be used more frequently. Upgrade Last Push: (Upgrade) Requirements: Level 14 Description: The warrior quickly recuperates from recent exertion.





Battle Synergy: (Sustained)
Requirements: Level 5 + Rally
Description:While this mode is active, the warrior and other party members within range fight as a cohesive unit that is deadlier than the sum of its parts. (This mode cannot be used at the same time as Bravery.)

    Upgrade Fearless Synergy: (Upgrade) Requirements: Level 9 + 2 Points in Battlemaster Description: The warrior now taunts nearby enemies while Battle Synergy is active, drawing the foes' attention away from party members. Upgrade Hero's Synergy: (Upgrade) Requirements: Level 11 + 2 Points in Battlemaster Description: The warrior now makes sacrifices on behalf of other party members, voluntarily suffering damage that the allies would otherwise have suffered themselves.




Defender:




Stonewall: (Activated)
Requirements: Level 1
Description: The warrior braces for impact, shrugging off damage for a brief moment and pushing back against any foe who attacks.

    Upgrade Bulwark: (Upgrade) Requirements: Level 3 Description: Stonewall now protects the warrior further, increasing the resistance to damage and making the warrior temporarily immune to the effects of force. The warrior's strikes against attacking foe now inflict damage as well.





Elemental Aegis: (Sustained )
Requirements: Level 3
Description: The secret to warding off the elements is to rely on your armor, keeping it between you and the blast. The warrior has learned this lesson well, and can anticipate magical attacks. (This mode cannot be used at the same time as Turn the Blade.)

    Upgrade Elemental Shroud: (Upgrade) Requirements: Level 7 + 2 Points in Defender Description: The warrior has grown increasingly adept at resisting elemental attacks.





Turn the Blade: (Sustained)
Requirements: Level 3
Description: While many warriors choose to endure their foes' hits, some prefer to deflect the damage instead. (This mode cannot be used at the same time as Elemental Aegis.)

    Upgrade Steady The Foot: (Upgrade) Requirements: Level 7 Description: The warrior holds ground, becoming remarkably resilient against forceful attacks. Upgrade Raise the Guard: (Upgrade) Requirements: Level 9 + 2 Points in Battlemaster Description: Further training in defensive tactics increase the effectiveness of Turn the Blade.





Resilience: (Passive)
Requirements: Level 5 + Turn the Blade + Elemental Aegis
Description: Warriors trained in resilience have learned not to flinch from wounds, making it almost impossible to break their attacks, push them backwards, or distract them with elemental effects like mild immolation. The warrior will only be interrupted by attacks that deal so much force as to knock the warrior completely down or that cause lengthy elemental effects.



Adamant: (Passive)
Requirements: Level 8 + Stonewall + Turn the Blade + 3 Points in Defender
Description: The warrior's deep knowledge of the defensive arts grants a permanent resilience against damage of all type.



Resolute: (Passive)
Requirements: Level 8 + Elemental Aegis + 4 Points in Defender
Description: The warrior has faced more mages in battle than most denizens of Thedas even see in a lifetime. This experience has built a mental fortitude that any templar would envy.



Two-handed:




Mighty Blow: (Activated)
Requirements: Level2
Description: The warrior leaps into the air, crashing down on foes with tremendous force.

    Upgrade Killer Blow: (Upgrade) Requirements: Level 6 Description: Mighty Blow becomes considerably more punishing Upgrade Shattering Blow: (Upgrade) Requirements: Level 8 + 2 Points in Two-Handed Description: Mighty Blow now crushes enemies who a mage has made BRITTLE.




Giant's Reach: (Passive)
Requirements: Level 3 + 1 Point in Two-Handed
Description: The warrior's two-handed attacks rip through the air with such power that each generates a shockwave past the point of impact, effectively extending the weapon's reach. This affects basic attacks, Whirlwind, Mighty Blow and Scythe.



Sunder: (Passive)
Requirements: Level 4 + 1 Point in Two-Handed
Description: The warrior's strikes carry such weight that critical hits gain a chance to STAGGER the victim.



Scythe: (Activated)
Requirements: Level 5 + 2 Points in Two-Handed
Description: The warrior charges through enemy lines, felling combatants in the way.

    Upgrade Reaper: (Upgrade) Requirements: Level 9 Description: Scythe inflicts a great deal more pain, particularly against enemies a mage has made BRITTLE.





Whirlwind: (Activated)
Requirements: Level 7 + Mighty Blow + Giant's Reach + 3 Points in Two-Handed
Description:The warrior cuts through foes, hitting all targets within melee range with a single sweeping arc.

    Upgrade Cyclone: (Upgrade) Requirements: Level 11 Description: Whirlwind becomes murderously effective and can be used more frequently. Upgrade Tornado: (Upgrade) Requirements: Level 13 + 6 Points in Two-Handed Description: Whirlwind now lands a critical hit with nearly every swing.



Vanguard:




Control: (Sustained)
Required Level: Level 3
Description: The warrior fights with discipline, not anger, making every swing count. (This mode cannot be used at the same time as Might.)

    Upgrade Command: (Upgrade) Requirements: Level 7 + 2 Points in Vanguard Description: Control results in even more focused attacks. which increases the warrior's chance to land a critical hit.




Might: (Sustained)
Requirements: Level 3
Description:The warrior focuses on heavy swings that cleave through foes. (This mode cannot be used at the same time as Control.)

    Upgrade Muscle: (Upgrade) Requirements: Level 7 + 2 Points in Vanguard Description: While Might is active, the warrior's critical hits are more likely to be fatal.





Assail: (Activated)
Requirements: Level 5 + Might + 3 Points in Vanguard
Description: For a short time, the warrior throws more weight into each swing, significantly increasing the force of any attack, as well as boosting the damage output.

    Upgrade Besiege: (Upgrade) Requirements: Level 9 + Might + 4 Points in Vanguard Description: When the warrior is using Assail, every attack now slams into other foes near the intended target.




Cleave: (Activated)
Requirements: Level 6 + Control + Might + 2 Points in Vanguard
Description: For a short time, the warrior's damage output increases tremendously.

    Upgrade Claymore: (Upgrade) Requirements: Level 10 + 4 Points in Vanguard Description: The warrior now retains the damage bonus from Cleave for longer and leaves some opponents off-balance, ready for further exploitation by a mage or rogue.





Destroyer: (Passive)
Requirements: Level 7 + Control + 3 Points in Vanguard
Description: The warrior is now an elite combatant, so experienced in battle that enemies suffer more pain when fighting the warrior than they would when fighting anyone else.




Massacre: (Passive)
Requirements: Level 12 + Cleave + 4 Points in Vanguard
Description: The warrior culls the weak. In most cases, when an enemy falls below a certain health threshold, the next hit is fatal.


Warmonger:



Pommel Strike: (Activated)
Requirements: Level 1
Description: Instead of leading with the fatal attack an enemy expects, the warrior strikes out with a weapon's blunt end to stun the opponent.

    Upgrade Pommel Blow: (Upgrade) Requirements: Level 3 Description: Pommel Strike now stuns enemies for longer and sends them reeling.





Taunt: (Activated)
Requirements: Level 3
Description: A mocking cry catches the attention of nearby foes, causing them to immediately abandon attacks on other allies to concentrate on the warrior instead.

    Upgrade Bellow: (Upgrade) Requirements: Level 7 + 2 Points in Warmonger Description: Taunt now effects enemies in a larger area, drawing them away from allies and to the warrior.





Bravery: (Sustained)
Requirements: Level 6 + Taunt
Description: The warrior's unwavering courage grants bonuses that increase proportionally to the number of enemies the warrior is engaging.This mode cannot be used at the same time as Battle Synergy.

    Upgrade Bravado: (Upgrade) Requirements: Level 9 Description: Bravery now draws more enemies toward the warrior, thus further increasing the mode's bonuses. Upgrade Bravura: (Upgrade) Requirements: Level 9 + 3 Points in Warmonger Description: Every enemy who swarms the warrior while Bravery is active now increases the warrior's damage further.





Tremor: (Activated)
Requirements: Level 6
Description: Push a warrior and prepare to be pushed back. Nearby enemies are knocked back as the warrior slams a weapon into the ground.

    Upgrade Aftershock: (Upgrade) Requirements: Level 9 Description: Tremor can be used more frequently and now has a chance to send enemies reeling. Upgrade Quake: (Upgrade) Requirements: Level 11 + 3 Points in Warmonger Description: The warrior can push back a larger crowd of enemies, and those thrown to the ground are now stunned.




Weapon and Shield:




Shield Defense: (Sustained)
Requirements: Level 3
Description: The warrior assumes a defensive stance, reducing damage taken from the front. However, the warrior inflicts less damage against enemies and sacrifices the ability to make closing attacks.

    Upgrade Shield Wall: (Upgrade) Requirements: Level 8 + 4 Points in Weapon & Shield Description: Shield Defense now reduces the damage from all attacks, rather than just the front. Additionally, the warrior's shield deflects some regular strikes, shrugging of most of the damage.




Shield Bash: (Activated)
Requirements: Level 2
Description: The warrior's shield arcs out, striking foes like a battering ram.

    Upgrade Pummel: (Upgrade) Requirements: Level 6 Description: Shield Bash can be used more frequently, and enemies slammed by the warrior's shield are STAGGERED.





Assault: (Activated)
Requirements: Level 5 + Shield Bash
Description: The warrior spins into a vicious assault that inflicts significant damage and often throws enemies back.

    Upgrade Battery: (Upgrade) Requirements: Level 9 + 3 Points in Weapon & Shield Description: Assault can now be used more frequently. It is also much more effective, particularly against enemies a rogue has left in a vulnerable state.




Scatter: (Activated)
Requirements: Level 6 + Shield Bash + Shield Defense + 2 Points in Weapon & Shield
Description: The warrior clears a forward arc, throwing enemies back.

    Upgrade Disperse: (Upgrade) Requirements: Level 10 Description: Scatter now forces back even large creatures, and is particularly punishing against enemies whose defenses a rogue has lowered.





Perception: (Passive)
Requirements: Level 4 + Shield Defense
Description: The warrior maintains constant awareness of the battlefield. So long as the warrior has a shield equipped, enemies receive no bonus for attacking from behind.




Safeguard: (Passive)
Requirements: Level 7 + Perception + Scatter + 4 Points in Weapon & Shield
Description: While a shield is equipped, the warrior shrugs off the extra damage from critical hits.
